A Poem: Love Warrior

Reading minds is easier than reading hearts,

but she can do both.

When I am quick to anger,

she whispers what wisdom

I wish I knew.

She wanders into war

with curiosity

and is welcomed on the battlefield

by both sides.

She lives in the trenches.

Without a shield or gun,

she has learned not to fight

with weapons.

Disarming enraged armies

with her heart

fluttering from side to side,

she listens to what each side cannot hear.

Men fear her understanding ways

while children keep her near.

As a woman of war,

she speaks all languages of hate

and translates them into love.

Follow the woman

waving the white flag

and she’ll lead you to common ground,

a place that was lost

but can be found

in the whispers of her wisdom.
